Ingredients for Glaze

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Step 2

In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the egg and sugar, then whisk in the vanilla, milk, sour cream, and melted butter.

Step 3

Using a rubber spatula, fold the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined.  Spray a 6-cavity donut pan with non-stick cooking spray.

Step 4

Transfer the batter to the prepared pan with a spoon or pastry bag.  Bake at 350-degrees for 10-12 minutes.

Step 5

The donuts are done if they spring back when touched. Cool the donuts in the pan for 4 minutes before inverting onto a rack to cool completely.

Step 6

In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and cocoa powder.  Add the milk and vanilla and whisk until smooth.

Step 7

Dip one donut in the chocolate glaze and add the sprinkles.  Repeat the process with the remaining donuts.
