Gluten free flour blend

Baking soda

Buttermilk

Egg

Diced apples

Salt

Vanilla

Unsalted butter

Brown sugar

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. In a small bowl, add the topping ingredients and use a fork to combine into coarse crumbs.

Step 2

In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the gluten free flour blend, baking soda and salt.

Step 3

In a large bowl, stir together the egg, buttermilk, melted butter, vanilla, and brown sugar until combined.

Step 4

Fold the flour mixture and the apples into the buttermilk mixture until combined. Be careful not to overmix the batter.

Step 5

Line a muffin tin with baking cups and divide the batter evenly among the cups.

Step 6

Sprinkle the topping over the muffin batter and bake for about 25 minutes.

Step 7

Allow the muffins to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to finish cooling.
