Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
In a small bowl, add the topping ingredients and use a fork to combine into coarse crumbs.

In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the gluten free flour blend, baking soda and salt.

In a large bowl, stir together the egg, buttermilk, melted butter, vanilla, and brown sugar until combined.

Fold the flour mixture and the apples into the buttermilk mixture until combined.
Be careful not to overmix the batter.
