These gluten free chocolate brownies are incredibly rich and delicious. This recipe, with three different types of chips, is made for chocolate lovers!
It’s been too long since I made a batch of brownies so I wanted to do it up right. Brownies with chocolate chips are always a good thing, but when you use white chocolate, semi-sweet, and dark chocolate they’re bound to be over-the-top scrumptious!
I’ve used semi-sweet chips in Cheesecake Brownies and white chips in White Chocolate Coconut Brownies, but these triple chocolate chip brownies are the first time I’ve used three different flavors in one recipe. And believe me, it won’t be the last time.
(This post contains affiliate links. Read my disclosure policy here.)You can find a good gluten free brownie mix like Betty Crocker or King Arthur Flour, but there’s something about baking from scratch that makes the brownies extra special.
It takes 30 minutes to prepare the batter and an hour in the oven to bake these gluten free chocolate brownies. You’re only 90 minutes away from delicious chocolate goodness.
How to Make Gluten Free Triple Chocolate Chip Brownies
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease a 9-inch square baking pan, then line the pan with parchment paper. The parchment should hang over the edges of the pan.
In a heat proof bowl, set over a pan of simmering water, place the butter and chopped chocolate. Stir occasionally until melted and completely combined (photo 1). Remove the bowl from the pan and allow the chocolate mixture to cool slightly.
Whisk together the gluten free flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl (photo 2).
In a large mixing bowl, add the sugars, eggs and vanilla (photo 3).
Whisk the sugar, egg, and vanilla mixture until completely combined (photo 4).
Add the melted chocolate mixture to the sugar mixture and whisk until completely incorporated (photo 5).
Fold the flour mixture, white chocolate chips, semi-sweet chocolate chips, and dark chocolate chips into the chocolate mixture with a rubber spatula (photo 6). Continue folding until all the flour is incorporated.
Transfer the batter to the prepared pan and smooth into an even layer (photo 7).
Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour, until a wooden pick inserted in the center comes out covered in sticky crumbs. Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan (photo 8).
Using the edges of the parchment paper, lift the brownies out of the pan and cut into squares (photo 9).
These gluten free chocolate brownies are substantial and full of wonderful chocolate flavor. Their sweet chocolate richness is not for the faint of heart!
You can cut the brownies into smaller servings, but as a chocolate lover, I don’t know why you would. 😊
Tips for Making Gluten Free Chocolate Brownies
- Check your gluten free flour mix for xanthan gum. If the mix doesn’t contain xanthan gum, try adding 1 teaspoon to the recipe. I used Bob’s Red Mill Gluten Free 1 to 1 Baking Flour which has xanthan gum in it.
- Use a 9” x 9” baking pan with straight sides, instead of rounded sides, to give the brownies a clean, crisp edge.
- Line your greased pan with enough parchment paper so the edges hang over the sides. This will make it easy to get the dense brownies out of the pan!
For all the chocolate lovers out there, these brownies aren’t to be missed. They’re rich, fudgy, and perfect for any chocolate craving.
Serve these gluten free chocolate brownies unadorned for a sweet chocolate treat. Or top one with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of chocolate sauce for an amazing sundae. Enjoy!!
